PAT Testing

Portable Appliance Testing, commonly known as PAT testing, is the process of routinely checking electrical appliances for safety, as required by UK Health and Safety at Work legislation, in particular the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.  Many types of equipment require testing at regular intervals to ensure continual safety. The interval between tests depends on both the type of appliance and the environment it is used in.

There is a legal obligation on businesses of all sizes to ensure the safety of electrical appliances that may be used by employees or the general public and PAT Testing is part of the process of fulfilling that obligation.

Skidmore Electrical can provide a full service, testing all your electrical equipment in one place at your site.  Our electricians are fully qualified, so you can be sure that the testing is to the required standard.  On completion we will provide you with all the relevant documentation and certification for each appliance so that you will be able to prove that you have fulfilled your obligations.
